Petter Smebye

Petter Smebye has more than 20 years of experience from the Norwegian car industry and has held various positions as a dealer, importer, and in the tyre/glass business. Petter joined ACG from RAC Group AS were he has been the CEO of RAC Tyres, Commercial Director of RAC Group and CEO of Dekk Partner Kjedehuset. He also served 5 years as the CEO of General Motors Norway and has held the position as president of the Norwegian Automotive Importers Association.

Petter has a varied background with which he has completed many different sorts of missions for ACG. 

He was a central part when Autonor AS chose to sell their business of SsangYong and DAF vehicles, and when they rented out their venues to another vital mobility participant. This was much more than a regular merger and acquisition mission since Petter successfully custom-made solutions for the part involved. 

Petter offered his competence from the tyre-industry to one of Norways largest car finance companies when they completed a procurement project of tyres, rims, etc for leasing customers. 

In 2017 Petter was hired as the CEO (management for hire) of Frydenbø Automotivecenter Kristiansand and Mandal. During the mission that lasted for 12 months, he completed a comprehensive reversal of the company and hired a new CEO.

He continued as a project manager to establish an organization for import of electric vehicles with a hub in Germany. And today he is in charge of the building of new car dealerships for a large Norwegian auto chain.

Together with another consulting firm, Petter has worked on a project with a large Norwegian municipality to find forward-looking mobility solutions. He has also taken on a mission for a Norwegian importer to improve the organization's stratification of dealerships. 

Petter is currently a board member of Finnmark Motorsenter in Alta and a chairman in Dekkstra AS.
